ThermoTerra captures a new source of renewable energy by Humidity Power
Buildings represent 30% world energy usage, of which 50% is for heating and cooling. Our technology can reduce these energy needs by up to 50%. Existing solutions like air conditioning are energy intensive and rely on electricity. Instead, we are using humidity power that uses the energy absorbed and released in natural humidity fluctuations. Our technology is installed into building facades. As humidity rises in the night, we store energy as absorbed water. The absorption process releases energy, heating at night (saving energy in heating systems). During the day, we cause the stored water to evaporate, a process which absorbs heat, creating a cooling effect (saving energy on cooling systems).
