Goldbeck's take on innovation

Goldbeck is an end-to-end provider for commercial facilities in Europe. They see buildings as products that should be delivered efficiently to clients and strive to serve as a one-stop-shop for their customers: from design and construction to services throughout the operation phase.

What did Goldbeck learn from their robotic pilot site?

Goldbeck is an end-to-end provider for commercial facilities in Europe. They see buildings as products that should be delivered efficiently to clients and strive to serve as a one-stop-shop for their customers: from design and construction to services throughout the operation phase.

In our last Construction 4.0 conference, we asked Goldbeck to talk about innovation today. To innovate, Goldbeck focuses on two areas of operation:

  1. Goldbeck innovation hub: Founded in 2019 in Silicon Valley, Goldbeck's hub hosts startups, partners, and events, all meant to promote innovation and generate new ways of thinking and operation for the ConTech industry.

  2. Construction robotics: One of the main challenges in the industry today is the contradiction between the stagnating productivity and shortage of skilled labor on the one hand and the increasing global demand for buildings on the other hand. To face this challenge, Goldbeck initiated a robotic pilot site in Germany to examine the possibility of integrating robots in construction.

What did they learn from their integration of robots?

  • The collaboration between humans and machines holds great potential for the industry.
  • A robot is nothing else than a tool at the end of the day.
  • Contractors are open to technologies such as robotics that help them increase efficiency and job safety.
  • Industry leaders must lead the way to help the field of construction robotics thrive.
